1. Agreement

These Terms govern your use of URLCarbon (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

URLCarbon generates screening-level product carbon footprint estimates from public product URLs, aligned with ISO 14067 and GHG Protocol principles. Reports are estimates and are not a substitute for a full ISO 14067-certified Life Cycle Assessment for regulated claims.

3. Accounts

You must be at least 16 and provide accurate information. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. Notify us immediately at support@urlcarbon.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

4. Plans, billing, and credits

• Free trial: new accounts receive 3 free carbon reports.
• Subscriptions: billed in advance monthly or annually via Stripe. Subscriptions auto-renew until cancelled.
• Monthly credits refresh each billing period and do not roll over. Purchased top-up credits are valid for 12 months.
• Cancellation: cancel any time from your dashboard. Access continues until the end of the paid period.
• Refunds: we do not offer refunds for partial billing periods. Statutory rights are unaffected.
• Price changes: we may change prices with at least 30 days' notice; changes apply at your next renewal.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Submit URLs you do not have the right to analyse, or content that is illegal, infringing, or harmful.
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or resell the Service without written permission.
• Use the Service to build a competing product, or to train competing AI models.
• Circumvent usage limits, credit systems, or security controls.
• Misrepresent our reports as certified LCAs or independently audited disclosures.

6. Your content and reports

You retain ownership of the URLs and inputs you submit. You grant us a limited licence to process them to deliver the Service. You own the reports we generate for you and may share them internally, publish them, or share via generated public links.

7. Accuracy and disclaimer

Reports are AI-generated estimates based on public data and industry emission factors. Actual emissions may differ. Confidence scores indicate estimated reliability. You are responsible for validating outputs before using them in marketing, regulatory filings, or commercial claims. The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

8. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, URLCarbon is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill. Our total aggregate liability arising out of the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) £100. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

9. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, branding, methodology, and report templates, is owned by URLCarbon and protected by intellectual property laws. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

10. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, misuse the Service, or fail to pay. You may close your account at any time from your dashboard.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified by email or in-app at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, subject to any mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
